Ingredients: Gingerbread Gingerbread Christmastree Decoration

  200g butter
500g honey
a pack of gingerbread spices mix 15g cocoa 1200g flour 1 pack baking soda a pinch of salt 2 eggs 2 egg whites 300g icing sugar red, blue and yellow food colouring

Heat the butter, honey sugar and the cocoa gentely while stirring it in a pot. Let cool for a few minutes. Mix the flour with baking soda and add to the honey mixture. Add the salt and eggs directly afterwards. First stir with a mixing spoon then remove from the heat and knead until smooth on a well floured surface.
Form a ball with the dough and wrap in cellophane. Place it in a bowl and let it rest over night.

Put liner on a baking tray and preheat the oven to 200°C. Cover the countertop with flour and roll out the dough approximately 4mm thick. Cut little figures out of the dough with cookie cutters . Place the figures on the baking tray and bake for 15 min. Let cool on a cooling rack

Beat the egg whites and add the icing sugar bit by bit. Mix the glaze with the food colouring in three cups. Make little decorating bags of vellum and fill with the glaze. Decorate the figures with the icing and sprinkles as you like.
