Filled Christmas tree


Ingredients: Shortcrust Filled Christmas tree

  300g flour
150g butter
100g icing sugar
1 whole egg
1/4l milk
1/2 pack of vanilla custard powder
2 egg whites
1 tbs. sugar
1/2 pack vanilla sugar
2 tbs. icing sugar
4 tbs. apricot jam
100g shredded coconut
a little chocolate icing
sugar sprinkle

Prepare a pattern of a Christmas tree of about 33cm height and 27 cm width. Sift the flour in a bowl and knead with the butter, icing sugar and the egg. Let the dough chill for two hours covered in the fridge. Make a pudding with the milk, custard powder and the sugar. Let cool. Beat the egg white with icing sugar and blend it with the pudding. Preheat the oven to 190°C. Roll out the dough and cut out two Christmas trees. Make whatever shaped cookies out of the reaming dough. Bake the cookies and the Christmas tree for 15-20 min. Cover one Christmas tree with the pudding while the tree is still hot and place the other on top of it. Let this cool. Heat the jam and cover the tree with it. Now sprinkle the shredded coconut and sugar sprinkles thick on the tree. Melt the chocolate icing in a double boiler and cover the cookies with it. Stick the cookies with a little warm jam on the Christmas tree.
