Organge-Chocolate Cookies


Ingredients: Shortcrust Organge-Chocolate Cookies

  100g semi-sweet chocolate
125g butter
125g sugar
pinch of salt
1 egg
zest of an orange
200g flour
1 tsp. baking soda
100g icing sugar
2-3 tbs. orange juice

Grate the chocolate. Blend the butter with the sugar, salt, egg and the orange zest. Sift the flour with the baking soda on this mixture and knead until you have a smooth dough. Form a ball with the dough and wrap it in cellophane. Let it chill for an hour in the fridge. Preheat the oven to 200C. Roll out the dough 5mm thick on a well floured surface and cut into round cookies with a cookie cutter. Arrange them on a lined baking tray with enough space between them and bake for 8-10 min. Blend the orange juice with the icing sugar and glaze the cookies with this.
