Ingredients: Yeast dough Christmas Stars

  500 g flour
30 g yeast
1/4 l tepid milk
100 g butter
80g sugar
2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. lemon zest
80g chopped almonds
50g candied lemon peel
80g peeled almonds
50g raisins

Prepare a cardboard star pattern. Sieve the flour in a bowl. Add the crumbled yeast in the middle of the flour and stir the yeast with the milk. Cover the bowl with a damped kitchen towel and allow it to rest for 15 min. in a warm a place. Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar, egg yolk, salt and the candied lemon peel. Mix it with the flour and yeast in the bowl and knead until you have smooth, dry dough. Beat in the chopped almonds and let the bowl stay covered in a warm place for 15 more minutes.

Roll out the dough and slice it in stars with your pattern. Decorate the stars with the candied fruits, the peeled almonds and the raisins as desired. Preheat the oven to 210C. Bake the stars for 10 - 15 min.
